Women and girls are disproportionately affected by deforestation, facing longer distances to collect essential resources like water and fuel, and bearing greater risks from environmental changes like drought and land degradation. However, women and girls also possess critical forest knowledge and are increasingly vital in forest management and conservation efforts, making their inclusion in decision-making processes essential for effective and sustainable solutions to deforestation. The TAG project work with women and girls through training, briquette making, fruits growing and kitchen gardening, and clean cook stoves.
