Homabay county has high HIV/AIDS, maternal and child deaths, and mental health issues. The county also faces high cases of teenage pregnancies, sexual and gender-based violence and drug and substance abuse. Worse still, healthcare system and community at large have limited capacity to address these issues. The SHA project work with community gatekeepers and development partners to provide training, awareness recreation, health drives through sporting, safe space, safe abortion and comprehensive care campaigns, health reform advocacy, and legal aid services to address these challenges.
